The National Weather Service predicts that snow in eastern Lane County this morning will soon be replaced by heavy rain in northwestern Oregon from March 11 to March 13.
The National Weather Service said a “long-lasting atmospheric river” will affect northwestern Oregon over the three days. The heaviest rainfall is expected along the southwestern Washington state and northern Oregon coast, but the rain will extend as far south as Roseburg.
The NWS predicts that Eugene will receive about 1.64 inches of rain over these three days, but there is some unpredictability in this forecast and totals could be less than half an inch or more than 3 inches.
On November 5, 2025, a Lane Transit District bus splashed in a puddle on Hilliard Street in Eugene.
The NWS says Eugene has a 12% chance of 3 inches or more of rain and a 6% chance of 4 inches or more.

This rainfall may cause ponding on roads and minor flooding in low lying areas with poor drainage. Rockslides, mudslides and landslides can occur in sloping areas. The NWS says there is less than a 5 percent chance of river flooding in the Willamette Valley.
