Bill Maher has harshly criticized President Donald Trump for his “biggest dick move in American history” after rolling back climate change regulations.

“Trump keeps saying this is a hoax and has to do with climate change,” Maher explained. “He said scientists are ‘stupid people.'” The idea that greenhouse gases cause climate change has no basis in fact, he said. “
At this point, the stand-up comedian noted, “He thinks it’s just some bullshit where people are starting from nothing to get rich. You know, like cryptocurrencies.”
On February 12, the Trump administration rescinded a 2009 declaration by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases posed a threat to public health. The repeal removes greenhouse gas emissions standards for all vehicles and could lead to a larger rollback of climate regulations for power plants, oil and gas facilities and more, The Associated Press reported.
Speaking about the move, Maher said, “Yes, his EPA chief, Lee Zeldin, said it was the ‘largest single deregulatory action in American history.'”
Then he bluntly said: “It’s probably true. It’s also the biggest dick move in American history.”
In September 2025, Trump lashed out at the concept of climate change during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly.
“In my opinion, ‘climate change’ is the biggest hoax the world has ever seen,” the U.S. president said, according to PBS. “All these predictions made by the United Nations and many other agencies, often for bad reasons, are wrong. They are made by stupid people who cost their countries wealth and no chance of success. If you don’t get rid of this green hoax, your country will fail.”
