Although many felt it was necessary to bring in a defender with an injury crisis, they chose not to bring anyone in during the winter window. But Liverpool saw things differently. The right players were not found for the right money, so nothing happened.

Yan Diomande is doing incredible things
Jan Diomande has been linked with a move away from RB Leipzig, although he only moved there in the summer. Then again, he only made his breakthrough at Leganes about a year ago and they sold him six months later.
However, his efforts in the Bundesliga have been top-notch. Diomande looks to be one of the most exciting wingers in world football, and he only turned 19 in November.
There is a lot of hype surrounding players and He could be on his way to Liverpool. At this stage there seems to be no doubt about the Reds’ interest – the question is whether they can be the ones to seal the deal.

But Diomande is essentially exactly What Liverpool needs. They desperately need a winger who can consistently push forward and take on defenders – something they lost when they sold Luis Diaz without a replacement.
Few are better at this than Diomande. In fact, no one is like that.
Whoscored tweeted over the weekend that the Ivorian has the highest dribbling success rate (among players who have attempted at least 80 attempts) in Europe’s five major leagues this season. That’s exactly why Liverpool are eyeing Diomande in the group, and why he could be the answer to one of their biggest squad problems at the moment.
