Square Enix has confirmed that a new Life is Strange game will be released in 2026, with the full version set to be announced next week. The publisher has set up a livestream for the game’s launch on January 20th. A few days ago, news broke that a new Life is Strange game would bring back characters from the first game.
The official Life is Strange account on The post was accompanied by a 30-second trailer featuring two characters whose faces are not visible in the video. These two characters could be Max Caulfield and Chloe Price from the first Life is Strange game.
This ties in with the leaked new title for Life Is Strange focusing on Chloe, Max’s best friend and the protagonist of Life Is Strange and Life Is Strange: Double Exposure .
Square Enix has yet to reveal the game’s official title, but according to leaks, the narrative adventure game is called Life is Strange: Reunion and will reunite best friends Max and Chloe.
‘Life is Strange’ details leaked
Last week, Life is Strange: Reunion was briefly listed on PEGI, a European video game content rating site, before being removed. The listing reveals the possible title and premise of the upcoming game.
According to the listing, Life is Strange: Reunion will focus on Chloe, who comes to Caledon University to seek help from Max, who must deal with the upcoming threat of a “deadly hell” that could destroy the campus. The game received a PEGI rating of 16, citing strong language, drug use, and strong violence.
The one out there is the PS5 version, but the next Life is Strange may launch this year on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo platforms. It’s also worth noting that the PEGI listing states Life is Strange: Reunion’s release date as March 27, 2025, which may be a typographical error that mentions the wrong year. However, with a reveal next week, the next Life is Strange game may launch on March 27, 2026.
The “Life is Strange” series includes four mainline games: “Life is Strange”, “Life is Strange 2”, “Life is Strange: True Colors” and “Life is Strange: Double Exposure”. The latest game in the series, Double Exposure, will be released in 2024. This narrative adventure game sees the return of Max as the protagonist.
