Indiana is the national champion, and Hoosier voices made an unforgettable call to commemorate the landmark victory.
The first national championship in program history finally took place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Miami was in Indiana territory, but Hurricanes quarterback Carson Baker threw a pass that Indiana defensive back Jamari Sharp saw and was intercepted at the Hoosiers’ 7-yard line.

Indiana radio broadcaster Don Fischer, who has been watching Indiana football games with headphones since 1973, had a huge reaction when he got the call:
“Look, throw the ball down the field and it’s intercepted by Indiana! Wow, what a great play! Jamari Sharp comes up with a pick-and-roll and he runs into the end zone,” said Fisher, who was celebrating with everyone in the stands.
Fisher has been through a lot of lows in Indiana football history, but he’s in front of the microphone ready for a national championship game.
