Lil Poppa’s Sister Asks for Public’s Help in Tracking Down Late Rapper’s Goyard Bag, Jewelry

Lil Poppa’s family is asking the public to help them find a Goyard bag and jewelry they say have been missing since the “Love & War” artist’s death.

In a statement shared to Instagram, Poppa’s sister Orieon said the item went missing from a Hilton hotel parking lot in the Atlanta area. As previously reported, Poppa, whose real name was Janarious Mykel Wheeler, died by suicide in February, with subsequent reports suggesting he was believed to have been involved in a car accident before heading to a hotel parking lot. Poppa, 25, then shot himself.

“We are asking for the public’s help and attention on something very important to us,” Orieon said in an IG post shared on Sunday (March 29). “On the day Lil Poppa died, he had jewelry secured in a Goyard bag. Both the jewelry and bag went missing that day – and the family still has no answers.”

The statement continued: “This incident occurred in the parking lot of the Hilton Hotel at 285 Virginia Avenue in Atlanta, Georgia. The family has asked South Metro Towing on Moran Avenue, Hapeville Police, questions, but there is no clear information or resolution yet. We are simply seeking the truth and accountability. If anyone has any information, no matter how small it may seem, please come forward. … This family deserves answers!”

Following initial reports of Poppa’s death, representatives for CMG, the Memphis record label founded by Yo Gotti, said in a statement that they were “shocked and devastated” by the news. Notably, Poppa signed with the label in 2022, eventually releasing multiple projects under the label.

To commemorate the CMG deal, Poppa and Gotti co-wrote the song “H Spot.”
