From there, Indiana struggled in the wilderness for three years before Tom Allen was fired and Kurt Cignetti was hired.
Now, nearly two years after he was hired, Curt Cignetti has Indiana’s first bowl win in my lifetime, specifically winning the Rose Bowl, the bowl game Terry Hoppner promised to get us back to.
Not only did Indiana win, they beat the Alabama Crimson Tide 38-3 in a game in which the Heisman Trophy quarterback threw more touchdowns than incompletions. Indiana has given up 2 touchdowns in the past 4 games (1 against Wisconsin, 1 against Ohio State). The running backs are all approaching 100 yards.
I couldn’t believe the world I was in. I can’t believe the time I have. Indiana’s story isn’t over yet.
