“Kingdom of Heaven: Deliverance 2” Sales
During its 2024-25 third-quarter earnings call, Embracer said the successful launch of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 “significantly exceeded” its expectations.
“We are pleased to share that Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, the medieval role-playing game released a week ago, has achieved initial success not only in terms of reception from players and critics, but also in terms of performance,” Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors said in a press release detailing the company’s quarterly financial results. “This reflects the dedication and hard work of our development studio, Warhorse Studios, and publisher, Deep Silver.”
He added: “The game sold over 1 million copies in the first 24 hours and is quickly approaching 2 million copies, with particularly strong performance on Steam, with peak concurrent players of over 250,000.”
Embracer is the parent company of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 developer Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver. According to the SteamDB chart, the number of concurrent players of this RPG on Steam reached a peak of 2,56,206. If you take into account console players on Xbox and PlayStation, its player base is likely to be even larger.
Wingefors said the company expects the game to continue generating significant revenue in the coming years. “Warhorse Studios has a strong roadmap including updates and new content over the next 12 months, ensuring an engaging and evolving experience for the community,” he said.
“The success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II reminds us that, at our core, we are all about bringing great products to market. Highly qualified teams need the resources and time to realize their vision. When you have the right team, that trust benefits everyone, including gamers, employees and shareholders,” he added.
On February 5, the day after the game’s release, developer Warhorse confirmed that the game had sold over 1 million copies. In terms of sales, the first game “Kingdom of Heaven: Deliverance” has sold 8 million copies since its launch in 2018.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 continues the story of Henry of Skarlitz, the son of a blacksmith who becomes embroiled in a larger political conflict in 15th-century Bohemia. This open world game features grueling first-person melee combat and a deep role-playing system. The game is playable on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
