Jones’ career-high 28 powers No. 19 USC women over Cal Poly 86-39

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Londian Jones scored a career-high 28 points, Jaz Davidson added 17 points, nine rebounds and six steals and No. 19 USC beat Cal Poly 86-39 on Thursday night.

Jones was efficient on 11-of-16 shooting (5-of-8 from 3-point range) for the Trojans (8-3). Kara Dunn scored 12 points (4-of-9 shooting), Malia Samuels dished out a game-high seven assists and Yakiya Milton had four blocks.

USC shot 44% from the field and 25% from beyond the arc, while Cal Poly shot 32% and 28%, respectively. The Trojans won the rebounding battle 44-29 and forced 27 Cal Poly turnovers to lead by 39 points.

The Trojans led in just the first 21 seconds of the game, leading 55-23 at halftime. The second half began with a 22-2 run, extending the lead to 67-25.

The Broncos (2-9) led the way behind Madison Butcher’s 10 points (3-for-5 from the field). Avery Knapp added 10 points.

USC leads the all-time series 5-0. The Trojans won their last game on November 9, 2024, 90-35.
