Sony hosted a State of Play livestream on February 12, with a slew of announcements and reveals about upcoming games. The hour-long livestream showcased updates for first- and third-party games, including Santa Monica’s next God of War game, Saber Interactive’s John Wick game, and the sequel to Keena: Bridge of Souls.
Santa Monica is also launching a new 2D God of War game, an action-platformer that follows young Kratos’ Spartan training. Sons of War is now available on PS5. Other highlights from State of Play include early access to Silent Hill: Town Falls, a gameplay reveal for Control Resonant, a new Dead or Alive game, and more. God of War Son of Sparda, God of War Greek Trilogy Remastered Announced

Santa Monica Studio showcased two God of War games at State of Play. Son of Sparta is a 2D action platformer that tells the story of young Kratos as he trains to become a Spartan warrior. The game is co-developed by retro gaming veterans Mega Cat Studios. Sons of Sparta is now available on PS5 after Sony Pictures dropped the game during a livestream.
Sony also revealed that a remake of the original God of War Greek trilogy is in development in Santa Monica. The game is currently in early development stages.
Untitled John Wick game revealed

Saber Interactive announced a new John Wick game at State of Play. The developer is working with Lionsgate, John Wick series director Chad Stahelski and star Keanu Reeves to develop the game.
The John Wick game doesn’t have an official title or release date yet, but it’s in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. Saber said the game will be a triple-A third-person action game featuring “shootout” combat from the John Wick movies. Keanu Reeves will reprise his role as the iconic assassin, providing his voice and likeness to the character in the game.
Kenna: Cosmora’s scars revealed

Ember Lab is working on the sequel to 2021’s Keena: Bridge of Spirits. The studio announced at State of Play that Kainar: The Scar of Cosmoora will see the spiritual guide Kainar travel to the island of Cosmoora. The game expands on the scope of its predecessor, offering a larger open world, deeper combat, and more boss fights.
Kenna also has a spiritual mount to travel through the world this time. Kena: Scars of Kosmora will launch on PS5 and PC this year.

At the State of Play, Konami announced the release of Metal Gear Solid: The Masters Collection Volume 1. 2, a new pack that brings together Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and the series’ first portable game, Metal Gear Solid: Ghosts of Babel, along with some extra content. This is the second installment of Metal Gear Solid: The Master Collection, following the first volume of Metal Gear Solid. 1 collection released in 2023.
Windless Project Announced

Krafton announced a new open-world action RPG called Project Windless at State of Play. The game is set in the fantasy universe of the Tearbird novel series. Crafton shared gameplay footage in the trailer, showcasing action combat and boss battles that appear to be inspired by Black Myth: Wukong.
The single-player game is currently in development at Krafton Montréal Studio. Project Windless is being developed in Unreal Engine 5. The game doesn’t have a release date yet.
“Yatho Legend Soul” announced

Sucker Punch announced Ghost of Yotei Legends, a co-op multiplayer mode for Ghost of Yotei, at the State of Play. Legends will be a free DLC for players who own Ghost of Yotei. The expansion will add co-op multiplayer to the game, allowing up to four players to take on demonic versions of the main game’s villains, the Six.
The expansion will be released as part of the game’s 1.5 update. Players can choose from four different categories and three mission types. Ghost of Yotei Legends will be released on March 10th.

Silent Hill: Town Fall gameplay revealed

Silent Hill: Town Falls will be released in 2022, along with Silent Hill 2 Remastered and Silent Hill f. Now, the game has finally received a gameplay trailer. Developed by Screen Burn, the survival horror game will feature a new town to explore and a new protagonist. The developer says the game will be played from a first-person perspective and feature story-driven puzzles.
Players will be given melee and ranged combat options, but choosing when to take on monsters will be the difference between life and death. Stealth is crucial if you want to survive. Silent Hill: Town Falls will be released on PS5 and PC in 2026.
