We asked you for your thoughts on Dundee United’s 2-0 win over St. Mirren.
Here’s what some of you are saying:
Ross: Bad run, bad luck, or just bad luck. It’s hard to build this Manchester United team. It’s exciting at times to work hard in certain areas, but the sad truth is that this performance is becoming a habit. Mindset, mentality, whatever you want to call it, it’s not going to work.

The defense was riddled with collective and individual mistakes. The midfield lacked creativity, the offense worked hard, but the service was poor, and fatal blows were missed many times. We sit deep by default. Even after we dominated, we couldn’t control the game. The guy behind me in Paisley said, “This is actually embarrassing.” It was, but please, let’s not boo the players at the end. They come to applaud support, not to applaud themselves. They didn’t measure up, but they were pretty sure they knew it.
Jenny: Jim Goodwin should turn things around in the next few games. If he doesn’t, then it will be time for United to look elsewhere. Almost any other manager in the Premier League could do more with some of the players he has. In a team that keeps conceding goals, we appear to have a very capable centre-back in Sam Clare-Harding, but he’s not even being considered. The same story goes for Irving Sturton earlier. Goodwin should use his entire roster, not just the players he signed, to turn a disastrous season into a decent one.
Kieran: Goodwin is on borrowed time now and the coming games won’t be made any easier by a home double header against Celtic and high-flying Motherwell. St Mirren don’t need to do anything special to achieve their goal and our season so far has a hint of 2022 déjà vu.
Column: We need to focus more on our own game rather than what we think our opponents can do to us. We can be an exciting team but be a nightmare defensively.

Philip: Goodwin must go before we get into a relegation battle. No width, no speed. A striker with good touches but no contribution in the penalty area. Ryan Strand is not a fullback as he is always dropped back near the offensive sideline. I think Will Ferry has regressed or been injured. Goodwin exits.
Gary: Poor. You can’t be inconsistent like that every week. The system Goodwin insisted on didn’t work either. The back three needs to be changed to a solid back four. The strain offers absolutely nothing. Ferry tried, but produced very little. The midfield was outplayed and had zero impact on the game. Nikola Moller is tall, but his link-up ability needs improvement. The situation is not helped by the constant movement of players in and out of the team. Players need game time to get to know and trust the players they play with. 4-4-2 or 4-3-3. But give up the obsession with a back three. This doesn’t work and overwhelms the midfield. No player will be awarded more than 4 points out of 10 in this game.
