Hyundai Ioniq 9 Electric SUV with 620km Range, Advanced Features Unveiled

Hyundai Motor has launched its new flagship Ioniq 9, a three-row SUV in the luxury electric vehicle segment. The company revealed that the electric vehicle will debut in the Korean and U.S. markets in the first half of 2025. The car is said to offer a combination of performance, space and advanced technological features.

The Ioniq 9 is powered by an impressive 110.3kWh battery pack and has an estimated range of up to 620 kilometers on the WLTP cycle. The vehicle is available in two main trim levels – Long Range and Performance – as well as a variety of drivetrain configurations to suit different driver preferences.

Powertrain and performance

Long-range versions are available in rear- and all-wheel drive options, with a 218-horsepower rear motor and an additional 95-horsepower front motor in AWD configuration. All-wheel drive is available exclusively on the Performance trim, delivering strong overall system output and impressive acceleration capabilities.

Interior innovation

The Ioniq 9 is available in six- and seven-seat configurations. Features include swivel second-row seats, massage functions for first- and second-row passengers and a flexible Universal Island 2.0 console. The car offers a generous luggage space of 620 liters, which can be expanded to 1,323 liters after the third row is folded.

Technical strength

The car comes with some interesting features including a panoramic curved display, 12-inch infotainment and instrument cluster, ambient lighting, multi-zone climate control and an optional 14-speaker Bose sound system. The SUV supports ultra-fast charging, replenishing 10-80% of the battery in just 24 minutes using a 350kW charger.

Design and size

The Ioniq 9 is 5,060 mm long and has an aerodynamic profile with a drag coefficient of 0.259. The design incorporates modern Parametric Pixels LED lighting signature and is available in 16 exterior color options.
