How to watch the Sony Honda Afeela CES 2026 presentation

Sony’s CES 2026 press conference is just days away, and this year’s press event is seeing some changes: Instead of focusing on Sony’s electronics, video games, and Hollywood studios’ New Year’s resolutions, the focus will be on a much narrower focus: electric vehicles. Sound weird? That’s because the traditional day of media coverage ends with not just Sony, but Sony Honda Mobility — the joint venture responsible for the Afeela 1 electric car that’s been on display at CES for nearly a decade. But this year, we will see a completely new concept model at the event.

The event will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on Monday, January 5th at 8pm ET on Afeela’s official YouTube channel, which we’ve embedded below.

What to expect from Sony Afeela at CES

The Afeela 1 has been unveiled in various forms since CES 2020, initially announced as the Vision-S. But over the past few years, a number of more important details have been confirmed, including an astonishing starting price of $89,900. However, early impressions were underwhelming, and as of CES 2025, that thought remains the case. Engadget’s automotive expert Tim Stevens said a year ago that the electric car “feels like a PlayStation 4 for the PS5 era,” and that “the car loses some of its original fun styling while sticking to some specs that sounded good five years ago.” Ouch.

But the Afeela 1 is not the only vehicle on display. Sony Honda Mobility said in a press release that its CES booth will display “a variety of Afeela 1 pre-production vehicles in multiple colors, as well as a new Afeela concept model.”

The company recently announced that the Afeela will be the first vehicle to offer PlayStation Remote Play, allowing players to remotely stream PS4 or PS5 games from their console in the car. No doubt this builds on the same streaming improvements found in PlayStation Portal.

We hope to hear about other new features and improvements at CES 2026, and we’re also excited to see its latest concept model. Between booth displays and press releases, we hope we’ll see at least some new Sony Electronics products on the 2026 schedule as well.
