In this guide, we will tell you how to install Android P beta on Nokia 7 Plus and Google Pixel devices. The process is very simple on the Google Pixel, but not so easy on the Nokia 7 Plus. While this guide covers both devices (we’ve verified all the steps on both), if you have any of the other Android devices mentioned earlier, you can visit Google’s Android Beta website, scroll to your phone and click Get the beta version Check the manufacturer’s recommended update steps.

How to install Android P beta on Pixel devices
You can install Android P beta on Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL, Google Pixel 2, and Google Pixel 2 XL very easily. Start by backing up your Android phone and then start following the steps below.
- Visit the Android Beta website.
- Scroll down to your Pixel device and tap Get the beta version.
- login If you haven’t already, go to Google.
- Now scroll down to see the Pixel devices listed. Click Opt in On the device where you want to install Android P beta.
- Check I agree to the terms of the beta program then click Join the beta.
- Now wait a few minutes and access on your phone set up > system > System update. tap Check for updates. The device will start downloading the Android P beta update.
- After downloading, click Download and install.
How to install Android P beta on Nokia 7 Plus
Android P beta is available for the Nokia 7 Plus, but the installation process is nowhere near as simple as for Google Pixel devices. Before proceeding, please note that we have verified these steps on the Nokia 7 Plus, but do so at your own risk. Before trying to flash Android P beta, be sure to make a complete backup of your phone, otherwise you may lose important personal data. There’s another caveat here – it’s not easy to go back to a previous version of Android, either. You have to flash a previous version of Android back to the Nokia 7 Plus, so if you’re not ready to do that, stop here. If yes, follow the steps below.
Before flashing Android P beta on Nokia 7 Plus
Before flashing Android P beta on your Nokia 7 Plus, keep the following things in mind:
- Back up all your data.
- Make sure your phone’s battery is at least 60%. Ideally it should be 100%.
- You won’t be able to use your phone or even make emergency calls until the flashing process is complete. You may need to put the SIM card in another phone before completing this operation.
- Users must wipe all user data (via the recovery menu) before attempting to refresh the device. Please note that the “factory reset” function (in the system menu) does not fully achieve this purpose.
- You need a computer to flash Android P beta on Nokia 7 Plus. The following steps are for Windows, so it’s best to find a Windows computer to perform these steps.
Download Android P beta system image
Follow the steps below to download the Android P beta system image for Nokia 7 Plus.
- On a Windows PC, go to Nokia’s developer page.
- Scroll down and click Sign in to get started.
- Log in using your Nokia account or just create an account and log in.
- Enter the IMEI, network operator name and country of your Nokia 7 Plus and click on the checkbox and finally click on Register.
- Once your device is verified, you will see a status message: Verification successful. Click Manual installation Then check the box that says you’ve read the instructions etc. click download.
- This will download the Android P beta image file to your computer. Rename it to something convenient like Android P.
Flash Android P beta on Nokia 7 Plus
These steps will guide you in trying to flash Android P beta on your Nokia 7 Plus.
- Turn off your Nokia 7 Plus and connect it to the Windows PC or laptop you are using for flashing. Now wait until you see the charging icon, which will appear after the Android One logo appears on the screen.
- Press and hold Turn up the volume and strength Press the buttons simultaneously until you feel a vibration. You will see an Android robot logo with a red exclamation point and No command A message appears on the screen.
- Press and hold power button and click Turn up the volume button once. This will put the device into recovery mode.
- Use the volume keys to scroll down and go to Wipe data/factory reset. according to power button to choose. Nokia recommends complete data wiping from recovery menu in order to A simple factory reset from the phone doesn’t work.
- Use the volume keys again to scroll to Yes on the warning message screen. according to power button Confirm again.
- You need to install ADB (Android Debug Bridge) on your Windows PC to “talk” to your device when refreshing the preview. To do this, the platform tools are required, and you can choose to download the entire SDK Manager, or just the platform tools. Extract the files, this is the folder we will be using. - copy Android P The beta system image file that you downloaded earlier to the Platform Tools folder.
- Once data erasure is complete on your phone, scroll down using volume key and select Apply updates from ADB. according to power button to choose.
- Now, you may see your Windows PC trying to install the ADB driver if it is not already installed. Once you’ve done this, go to Platform tools folder, press transfer + right click in the blank space and click Open a command window here.
- In the command window enter ADB equipment. it will show ? Sideloading in the command window. Enter now adb sideload AndroidP.zip. you can replace AndroidP.zip Use whatever filename you saved the file under.
- Now wait for the process to complete. You will see a percentage progress bar in the command prompt on your Windows PC. Don’t put your machine to sleep! Once the process is complete, you will see a message on your phone that reads: Installation completed from ADB.
- Now, on your Nokia 7 Plus, click on power button choose Restart the system nowselected by default on this screen. It may take a little longer than usual to start your phone, so don’t panic.
