How to Download and Install iOS 10 Beta on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Apple has made a public beta version of iOS 10 available for free download. If you want to try out the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system, you can do so now. Note – Before downloading and installing the iOS 10 public beta, be sure to back up your iOS device. Please note that this is not the final version of iOS 10, it will be full of bugs, and your favorite apps may stop working entirely. We strongly recommend that if you install the iOS 10 public beta, you do not install it on your primary iOS device.

Which iOS devices can install the iOS 10 public beta?
Apple has released iOS 10 for the following devices:

iPhone 6s
iPhone 6s Plus
iPhone 6
iPhone 6 Plus
iPhone SE
iPhone 5s
iPhone 5c
iPhone 5
iPad Pro 12.9 inches
iPad Pro 9.7 inches
iPad Air 2
iPad Air
iPad 4th generation
iPad mini 4
iPad mini 3
iPad mini 2
iPod touch 6th generation

If you have either of these, you can install the iOS 10 public beta. Please follow the steps below.

How to download and install the iOS 10 public beta

1. Open Safari on any of the iOS devices listed above.
2. Head to Apple’s iOS 10 public beta website.
3. click blue Sign up button and register for the beta software program.
4. If you are already registered, just click login and enter your Apple ID and password.
5. Read the Apple Beta Software Program Agreement and click accept.
6. Click iOS system tab. Its background turns blue when selected.
7. Under “Start,” click Register your iOS device.
8. Scroll down and click on the blue Download Introduction button.
9. This will require opening a Install configuration file screen, asking you to install the iOS Beta Software Profile. Click Install on button upper right corner.
10. Enter your password (if you have one).
11. Read Apple’s consent message. tap Install in the upper right corner.
12. tap Install Again in the popup window.
13. A pop-up will ask you to restart your iOS device to apply the changes. tap Restart.
14. After your device restarts, go to set up > General > Software updates.
15. You’ll see iOS 10 Public Beta 1 here. tap Download and install.
16. Enter your password (if you have one).
17. Read Apple’s terms and conditions and click agree in the lower right corner.
18. Now iOS 10 will start downloading. On our iPhone 5s, it showed as a 1.6GB download.
19. After the download is complete, click Install now Install the iOS 10 public beta on your iOS device.
