With Harry Kane’s contract at Bayern Munich set to expire next summer, there is speculation over whether the 32-year-old will leave the German club.
However, for Germany and Bayern legend Lothar Matthäus, leaving makes little sense.

“Now he is winning title after title, which he has never done before in England. So I see no reason for Harry Kane to leave this club or his environment,” Matthaus said on the “Sky90 – die Fußballdebatte” program.
“His contract will be extended. I’m sure of that.”
Matthaus believes Kane would be at great risk leaving his successful system in Munich.
“He knows what his coach[Vincent Kompany, editor’s note]has; he repays the trust he has given him. He plays in a team that is functioning well. Who knows if he will shine elsewhere? Who knows if he will play as well elsewhere as he did under Kompany?”

Matthaus noted that even Kane’s rivals are happy to have him in the Bundesliga.
“He is a global brand, he is the second Beckham because everyone in the world knows him. No one hates him – not Frankfurt, not Dortmund.”
