Fermin Lopez is a player Chelsea were heavily linked with last summer and now a senior figure at Barcelona has confirmed the interest.
We’ve heard a lot about Chelsea’s interest in a number of players this summer, with Fermín Lopez being the most mentioned.

The Barcelona attacker has been linked with a potential move to Chelsea on multiple occasions and now we have confirmation that this is serious. Former Barca board member Joan Soler confirmed the Blues were trying to sign the 22-year-old:
“Chelsea made a very important offer for Fermin this summer, but the player doesn’t want to leave and we don’t want to sell,” he said in a quote obtained by SportWitness.

Fermin has now proven his dedication to his boyhood club, signing an extension until 2031 with a huge release clause that all but ended his chances of a move to Chelsea.

The Blues ended up signing Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho as their wing options. To be fair, none of them actually uprooted any trees. Fermin, meanwhile, has proven his worth to Barcelona with impressive statistics this season – scoring 11 goals and providing 12 assists in 32 games.
It doesn’t sound like he’s interested in coming anyway – but we’d love to sign him.
