PEORIA — The Hardee’s store on Knoxville Avenue has permanently closed, according to a sign posted on the storefront.
Customers are encouraged to “please visit one of our other locations in Peoria.” There are still three restaurants in Peoria including: 3431 N. University St., 3505 NE Adams St. and 3909 W. War Memorial Drive.
Hardee’s also operates stores in Pattonville, Chillicothe, East Peoria, Pekin, Washington, Canton and Eureka.
Brad Joseph, principal of the family-owned Joseph Companies, said the company learned of Hardee’s impending closure in late 2025. The closure happened recently.
CommercialSearch updated the property’s listing on Jan. 20, saying the “former Hardee Building” was available for rent. The company described the space as ideal for restaurant or retail use, adding that the location is located in “one of Peoria’s most popular commercial corridors” with high visibility.
However, Joseph doesn’t think the store will remain empty for long. He said they are considering a variety of options, including reaching out to concepts that are not currently in the area, to find the best fit for the space.
