The Ohio State men’s basketball team (18-11, 10-8) pulled off an upset victory over Purdue on Sunday afternoon to move back to the right side of the NCAA Tournament bubble before traveling to State College, Pa. As of Tuesday night, Ohio State was ranked as the second-highest No. 11 seed on the Bracket Matrix. If the Buckeyes win their last two games, they should feel pretty good about their position. KenPom currently gives Ohio State a 51% chance of winning, which would put them at 20-11 overall and 12-8 in the Big Ten.
Penn State started the season 0-10 in Big Ten play but has won three of its past eight games, including a 71-69 victory over Iowa on Saturday. The Nittany Lions are shooting 47.1 percent from the field, fifth in the Big Ten, but their opponents are last in shooting percentage at 49.7 percent.
Bruce Thornton is 30 points away from passing Dennis Hopson as Ohio State’s all-time leading scorer.
Conner’s prediction: Ohio State 80, Penn State 75
