Golden Knights reach new low with overtime loss to Blackhawks

The Vegas Golden Knights have officially hit rock bottom.

The Golden Knights’ latest skid has spanned five games, with a 3-2 overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.

In the first stage, a temporary lineup in the lineup change seized the opportunity. Alexander Holtz and Brett Howden worked together to get the puck out of the front of the net, where it was found by Brandon Saad. After struggling to finish the game all season long, Saad was finally able to get past Arvid Soderblom to put the Golden Knights in first place.

However, two minutes later, the Golden Knights’ resilience was tested. Tyler Bertuzzi took advantage of a screen and beat Akira Schmid to score his 20th goal of the year.

In the first minute of the second period, the Golden Knights got the puck luck they had been lacking. Jack Eichel’s pass failed to reach Ivan Barbashev, but the resulting block deflected the puck to Mark Stone. The skipper finally beat Söderblom, continuing his streak of scoring in four consecutive games.

However, this momentum came to an abrupt halt in the third period. With eight minutes left in the game, a pass broke through the Golden Knights defense and found Bertuzzi at the side of the net. He tipped the ball past Schmid on the second play to tie the game for the Blackhawks.

Heading into overtime, Bertuzzi sealed the deal for the Blackhawks, who were at rock bottom. Despite an offsides check, the goal stood and the Golden Knights’ struggles reached a new low.
