NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — John Gibson and Cam Talbot combined for 31 saves, Dominic Shine scored his first NHL goal and the Detroit Red Wings beat the New Jersey Devils 3-0 on Sunday night.
Starting a four-game winning streak, Detroit snapped a two-game losing streak and ended the Devils’ winning streak at four games.

Gibson made 21 saves in the first two periods but was injured at the end of the second period. Cam Talbot stopped 10 shots in the third quarter. They became the first Detroit goaltenders to combine for a shutout since Jonas Gustafsson and Jimmy Howard in 2014.
Moritz Seidel and James van Riemsdyk also scored and each assisted on Schein’s third-period goal. At 3 minutes and 20 seconds into the first quarter, Seidel scored on a wrist shot. At 6 minutes and 37 seconds, Van Riemsdyk hit a shot during a power play.
With 9 minutes and 36 seconds left, Shine broke through quickly. The 32-year-old forward was playing his fifth NHL game of the season and the 14th of his career.
Linebacker Justin Faulk made his Red Wings debut Friday after being acquired from St. Louis.

Jacob Markstrom made 27 saves for New Jersey in the fourth of a seven-game homestand. The Devils defeated the New York Rangers 6-3 on Saturday. Jack Hughes scored a hat-trick in that game.
