Former Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has struggled at Chelsea this season.
Manchester United career
The Argentine joined Manchester United from Atletico Madrid’s academy in 2020.
He won the FA Youth Cup with Manchester United and scored twice in the final against Nottingham Forest. Garnacho made his senior team debut in 2022 and scored in the 2024 FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.

The winger made 144 appearances for Manchester United, scoring a total of 26 goals for the Red Devils.
sharp ending
Garnacho’s time at United was marred by petty social media comments about his two managers, Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim.
He also caused an uproar among Manchester United fans when pictures of him wearing an Aston Villa shirt were posted on social media. Eventually, Grenache was sold to Chelsea for £40 million in the summer.
Poor form
It hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the Argentina international, who has made 29 appearances and scored six goals.
Despite this, he has scored just once in 16 Premier League games this season and has often been on the bench.

Football365 even stated that Garnacho is Chelsea’s worst-ranked player in terms of performance this season.
The 21-year-old had another poor performance against Hull City in the FA Cup last night.
Chelsea won 4-0 safely, but Garnacho was of little help.
F365 commented, “We warned Ganaccio in January that he would face a repeat of his Manchester United sacking under Liam Rosenior if he didn’t stick to his guns, and that could still happen.”
The website commented, “In the recent game against Hull City, his performance was lackluster and he was the weakest of Chelsea’s attackers.”
This weakness and lack of belief was best demonstrated when he faked contact in an attempt to win a penalty rather than contesting the ball with a Championship side.
