TORONTO (AP) — Marcus Foligno scored his first NHL hat trick to double his season goal total, Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice and the Minnesota Wild beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-3 on Monday night.
The 34-year-old Foligno was evenly matched in the second period and scored an empty goal in the third period.

Ryan Hartman added a goal and an assist, while Kirill Kaprizov and defenders Quinn Hughes and Brock Faber each had two assists. Since acquiring Hughes from Vancouver on December 12, Hughes has contributed two goals and 18 assists in 18 games for the Wild.
Filip Gustavsson stopped 27 shots. The Wild have won two straight to open a three-game trip after being swept in three games at home. They beat Buffalo 5-4 in overtime on Saturday.
Auston Matthews scored his 25th goal of the season for Toronto and added an assist. John Tavares and Nicholas Robertson also scored. Joseph Wall conceded 5 goals on 29 shots in two quarters. Dennis Hilderby stopped nine shots in the third.
The Maple Leafs have won seven straight at home.

Foligno gave Minnesota a 3-1 lead with 46 seconds left in the second period and Tarasenko’s second at 8:24 of the second period gave Foligno a 5-1 lead with 46 seconds left.
