Delta Air Lines reminded travelers on its website on Friday, Dec. 5, that it has initiated ground operations for flights at Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus. The airport posted about the outage on X just after 7 a.m. ET.
The airline is experiencing a network outage, affecting operations at the airport’s McNamara Terminal. This issue is specific to Delta and does not affect other DTW airlines.
As of 8:30 a.m., the Federal Aviation Administration’s National Airspace System status showed “moderate” delays at the airport.

“The Delta team is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and safety remains our top priority. We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers, who should monitor flight status through the Delta app and the Delta website,” a Delta spokesperson told USA TODAY, citing a “technical connectivity issue.”
DTW also urges travelers to check flight status with their airline before heading to the airport.
