Epstein survivor tells CBS News how she was trafficked, and assaulted

Juliet Bryant says she first met Jeffrey Epstein She was 20 years old at the time, a psychology and philosophy student in Cape Town, South Africa, and a part-time model.

Her first interaction with the late American sex offender was accidental, when a girl approached her on a night out and offered to introduce her to a man she said she described as American royalty.

“She said she knew a man here who was the ‘King of America,’ and he was here with Bill Clinton and Kevin Spacey and Chris Tucker. She told me that his best friend, Leslie Wexner, owned Victoria’s Secret, and it was a really good idea for me to meet them because it might help my modeling career,” Bryant told CBS News on Sunday. “So we went to the restaurant where they were having dinner on the side of the road. And sure enough, there they were. Bill Clinton, Kevin Spacey, Chris Tucker, Jeffrey Epstein, some government officials from South Africa.”

Bryant, who did not accuse Clinton, Spacey or Tucker of any wrongdoing, said her interaction with the men at the table was brief, lasting only about five minutes.

But the next day, she received a call from the girl who introduced her, telling her that Epstein wanted to see her modeling portfolio.

“Epstein said he thought I would be a good fit for Victoria’s Secret, and they left that day, but his office started calling me to arrange the visa, flights and everything,” Bryant told CBS News. “You know, I had no money or anything, but they said not to worry, they were going to deduct all my expenses from my income there.”

Bryant, a South African citizen, said she was surprised how quickly Epstein was able to arrange her trip to the United States.

“They arranged a visa for me to come to the United States. It’s like a visitor’s visa… They arranged these visas very quickly, which is unusual in South Africa. It’s usually very difficult to get a visa here. And then basically within three weeks, I was in the United States,” she said.

Multiple emails in one batch Epstein-related documents released by the Justice Department CBS News reports indicate that Epstein assisted or received legal counsel to help young women, including those from Eastern Europe, obtain visas to the United States.

Bryant said that shortly after arriving in New York, she was told she would be traveling to the Caribbean to Epstein’s private island.

“I obviously thought it was for a modeling shoot,” she said. “We went to Teterboro Airport where they were waiting for the plane and, you know, these airports never checked anything. They didn’t check our passports, our luggage, nothing.”

Bryant said her passport was confiscated on the plane and she was sexually assaulted.

“When the plane took off, he [Epstein] Started stroking between my legs so hard I freaked out. I realized, this wasn’t a modeling opportunity, I was kidnapped,” Bryant told CBS News. “They took me to the island and I was stuck there. They never lined up any modeling opportunities and I was basically completely ripped off. “

Bryant said she was trafficked by Epstein for the next few years of her life. Her description of where she first met Epstein matches a time when Epstein lent a plane to former President Bill Clinton as part of a Clinton Foundation trip to Africa.

Public flight logs reviewed by CBS News show that in September 2002, Clinton took Epstein’s private jet with actors Spacey and Tucker on a nine-day trip to Africa, visiting Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Mozambique and South Africa.

KFF Health News reported at the time that Clinton, Tucker and Spacey were visiting the Clinton Foundation to “promote efforts to combat HIV/AIDS and economic development.”

Clinton said in a sworn statement to the House Oversight Committee in January that Epstein offered to use his private jet for himself, his staff and Secret Service agents to support the Clinton Foundation’s charitable work between 2002 and 2003.

Clinton has denied ever visiting Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where many of the late financier’s crimes took place, and insists he had no contact with the convicted pedophile for more than a decade before his arrest in 2019.
