But one of the more pressing questions that needs to be addressed is what the Dolphins ultimately do with Tyreek Hill. The superstar wide receiver may not join the team next year as his future is very uncertain.

ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques said Hill’s future hinges on his $30 million contract, which could force Miami to sign the star receiver this offseason.

Dolphins get $30M update on Tyreek Hill

“…the Dolphins will have to make a decision on wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s contract,” Louis-Jacques wrote. “… Considering he will hit a cap hit of nearly $30 million in 2026, there’s no way Hill could return on his current contract — if at all.”

This update from Louis-Jacques is noteworthy. While Hill’s future in Miami is uncertain, this report suggests there’s no way Hill will simply remain on the roster.

If the Dolphins decide to bring Hill back for the 2026 season, he would be on his current contract next year after suffering a serious knee dislocation early in the season.

The $30 million salary cap hit is too much for the Dolphins to bear, especially with Tagovailoa’s contract issues looming.

Instead, the Dolphins will either cut, trade, or renegotiate his deal to make those decisions easier. He could stay in Miami, but it’s not like the Dolphins parting ways with Hill.

Louis-Jacques didn’t block Hill’s future in Miami, but he did make it clear that any future, with or without Hill, would not involve his current $30 million cap hit.

Dolphins fans should expect Hill to make some roster moves this offseason. Whether it is cuts, trades or contract renegotiations, Hill’s status will not remain the same in the 2026 season.
