According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, forward Cam Johnson will miss four to six weeks with a right knee injury. Johnson suffered a bone contusion in his right knee in the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.
Johnson is averaging 11.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists this season. He shot 46.1% from the field and 42.9% from three-point range.
This is Johnson’s first season in Denver, after he was acquired by the Nuggets in the offseason. The Nuggets traded forward Michael Porter Jr. and a 2032 first-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for the veteran wing.
Johnson is the third Nuggets starter to be injured recently, including Aaron Gordon and Christian Braun. Gordon has not played since Nov. 21 with a hamstring injury. Braun played in only 11 games this season due to an ankle injury.

One player the Nuggets could turn to is forward Spencer Jones, who has seen an increased role recently. Jones has played more than 20 minutes in each of Denver’s past three games and is averaging 5 points and 2.2 rebounds this season.
