In a must-win game for the Chargers to win the AFC West, the Bolts’ missed opportunities and turnovers ultimately proved their undoing against the Texans on Sunday night at SoFi Stadium, where they lost 20-16.
While the Chargers’ defense performed well outside of two deep touchdown passes in the first quarter, the Bolts’ injury-plagued offensive line did little to protect quarterback Justin Herbert throughout the game, with the former Oregon Duck sacked five times on 35 pressures.

With their loss in Week 17, not only did the Denver Broncos officially lock in the AFC West title, but the Chargers also fell to sixth place in the AFC playoffs. Additionally, Philip Rivers and the Indianapolis Colts have been eliminated from playoff contention, completing their second-half season collapse that saw them sit at 8-2.
