Christian Pulisic: AC Milan’s only hope of thwarting United revealed

Manchester United would most like to bring in a goalscoring winger from the Premier League.

Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye emerged as a specific target but the Toffees appear determined not to lose their talisman in the summer.

RB Leipzig’s Jan Diomande is another name on the wish list, but Liverpool are currently leading the race, with the Bundesliga side offering as much as €100 million.

The Ivorian lacks Premier League experience, while the next name on the list does not. Chelsea’s former Champions League winner Christian Pulisic has also attracted interest from the Red Devils.

Christian Pulisic becomes a serious option

There’s a good reason for this. Since leaving these shores for AC Milan, the American has taken his game to the next level.

He scored 15 goals in his first season and 17 goals last season. The 27-year-old has also continued his excellent form this season and has scored 10 goals in all competitions.

man of the people According to reports, the United States international is eager to return to England’s top flight, with an offer of 70-80 million euros.

However, Football Insider reports that the Rossoneri do not want to part with their talisman and are keen to reject any and all offers, with interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur growing.

How AC Milan prevented him from leaving

But to do that, they must qualify for next season’s Champions League. They currently sit second in the Serie A standings.

Manchester United have also shown interest in the American forward, as have their north London rivals, but Milan hope Champions League qualification will be enough to convince the 27-year-old to stay.

“The former Chelsea star will enter the final year of his contract at San Siro at the end of this season, but Milan have a potentially key option to extend the deal by another year.”

Is he the best candidate?

Christian Pulisic deserves praise for his performance, but Ineos will do well to remember the former Borussia Dortmund ace’s struggles during his time at Stamford Bridge.

After failing to reach the heights he expected, the Blues opted to cut their losses. As United have made all too clear, performing well in Serie A is not always the best barometer of success.
