“What happened is I’m sorry that (expletive) No. 7 did the dirty (expletive) (expletive) thing behind my back,” Barmore told Patriot Wire. “People want to talk (expletive), but he’s not on the field. I’m just saying, man. They want to be tough, you go to the locker room.”

He was referring to Jets offensive tackle Armand Membou, who hit him while he was already down.

“The play is over,” he explained. “I heard the whistle blow. Bro came up behind me and put his whole body on my back. I could have gotten hurt. I was never a dirty player.”

Barmore does credit Vrabel for helping him regain his composure.

“Listening to my coach. Coach helped me calm down because he saw what happened,” the defensive tackle said. “He told me to stay focused because they were doing dirty things.”

“This is for the team,” he added. “We’ve got to stay calm for the team. We already know what they’re doing, so we’ve got to stay calm for the team. We got the win. Look at the scoreboard. I’m proud of my team, proud of us, proud of the D line. We’re only going to get better.”

Vrabel was also asked about his postgame interaction with Barmore.

“I’m just reminding everyone to stay calm,” he said. “We have shown who we are and shown that on the football field and made big decisions for the team.

“We don’t want to give people free yardage. That’s it. Just a reminder.”
