Cavaliers Reacts Survey: Fans pick their fifth starter

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of NBA fans. All year long we’ll be asking questions from the nation’s most ardent Cavaliers fans and fans. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed survey.

Earlier this week, we asked Cleveland Cavaliers fans to participate in another of our SB Nation reaction surveys. Now let’s see the results.

First, we asked about the starting small forward position. This has been a point of discussion for the Cavaliers. It turns out that even though things have changed, they’ve stayed the same.

It’s worth mentioning that 67% of fans voted that Max Strus should remain the starter, assuming he’s fully healthy, of course. Strus made his season debut last Sunday and has been in Kenny Atkinson’s closing lineup against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Strus is still limited by minutes and appears to be in the early 20s range. But those minutes should increase as we move forward, and so should Struss’ spot in the rotation. I would say it’s a safe bet that Strus will be the starter by the end of the season. It seems the same is true for you.

The Cavaliers currently have the fifth-best odds on FanDuel to win the championship this season. The return of Strus should be a boon to them.

Our other question is more interesting. It doesn’t matter who shoots better from 3-point range between Sam Merrill and Jaylen Tyson. Despite this, fans chose to continue supporting Money Merrill for the remainder of the season.

Considering Tyson is shooting nearly 1 percent better from downtown with just 13 games remaining, Merrill’s reputation here is definitely secure. I’m surprised the result wasn’t closer to 50/50 as it was like a coin toss to me.
