Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Officially Confirmed, Full Reveal Set for June 9

Activision Blizzard has confirmed that the next Call of Duty game will be Black Ops 6. After multiple leaks and teasers, the publisher announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 last week. “A dark new chapter in the Black Ops franchise begins,” the official Call of Duty controller on X was announced on May 23, along with a short video revealing the title of the game. In addition, Activision Blizzard also confirmed that “Black Ops 6” will be fully revealed in a Direct demonstration immediately after the Xbox Game Showcase on June 9.

The “Call of Duty” maker last week kicked off a marketing push for the next game in its popular shooter series, launching a “Truth Lies” branded game trailer website. The next entry in the Black Ops series follows the 2020 release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Activision and Microsoft also confirmed that a direct demo at the Xbox Game Showcase scheduled for next month will be dedicated to Black Ops 6. Microsoft’s initial announcement of the reveal included an edited image teasing the next Call of Duty game. However, Leaks claimed at the time that the direct reveal would showcase the next entry in the COD series.

The complete Black Ops 6 will be revealed after the Xbox Game Showcase on June 9 at 10am PT (10:30pm IST). While Activision Blizzard hasn’t revealed any further details yet, the direct demo could debut the game’s first trailer and reveal a release date.

While Activision Blizzard hasn’t revealed any details about Black Ops 6 beyond a cryptic trailer, CharlieIntel, the X account that publishes Call of Duty updates, discovered details in the trailer that suggest the game is set during the Gulf War. Additionally, the leaker posted an image on X, citing reddit user u/Oufp4, which reportedly shows GameStop’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 pre-order listing. According to the listing, Black Ops 6 will also be released on PS4, suggesting that the game will be released on the last-generation console.

Microsoft completed its acquisition of Call of Duty maker Activision Blizzard last year and reportedly plans to bring the next installment of the shooter to its Game Pass subscription service.
