According to police, at about 11 a.m., a woman later identified as Lightfoot entered the Simmons Bank in the 500 block of Tillman Street and held a butcher knife and demanded use of her cell phone.

The bank manager said he told Lightfoot to leave, and that’s when she took the knife and said, “I’m going to kill you, f**k.”

The bank employee said Lightfoot walked out of the bank and continued to tell him she was going to kill him.

Officers who responded to the scene said that while they were there, the manager of the Dollar Tree next door said Lightfoot came into the store and threatened him with a knife.

The store manager said Lightfoot asked for a dollar, and when he refused and told her to leave, she pulled out a butcher knife and said, “I bought you something” and walked out of the store.

While officers remained on scene, they received a call about an armed psychopath less than a half-mile away in the 600 block of Franklin. They said a woman matching Lightfoot’s description was seen holding a butcher knife.

MPD said officers were able to recover the knife and take Lightfoot into custody.

The victims identified Lightfoot as the man who threatened them with a butcher knife.

She was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in prison. She was sentenced to nine months and 11 days of probation, with 78 days already served.

The bank manager said Lightfoot came to the bank frequently and he believed she had mental health issues. Police said the incident was caught on camera.
