PGA Tour Pro Golf is coming to Apple Arcade next week. The popular golf game series is coming to Apple’s subscription gaming service, which provides access to a variety of games without ads or in-app purchases. PGA Tour Pro Golf will include virtual versions of real golf courses and will provide support for live play as well as multiple rounds. Players can also improve their clubs and equipment by earning in-game currency that can be used to purchase these upgrades.
PGA Tour professional golf to offer head-to-head format, multi-day tournaments
Apple will launch PGA Tour Pro Golf to Apple Arcade subscribers on February 6, and players will be able to download the game on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac computers. Publisher HypGames says it’s designed to be played with a controller, meaning a compatible wireless Xbox, PlayStation or other Bluetooth game controller should work with the game.
According to the list of upcoming games, players will be able to play realistic golf games on a variety of immersive courses that are entertainment venues set in popular locations. These include Pebble Beach Golf Course, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, Firestone Country Club, Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Harbor Town Golf Course, Latrobe Country Club and Spanish Bay Golf Course.
Instead of a turn-based game, players can play the game in real-time with their competitors. They can also compete in one-day and multi-leg tournaments and earn in-game currency that can be used to purchase game upgrades – like other Apple Arcade games, PGA Tour Pro Golf does not include in-app purchases or other microtransactions using real money.
Apple also announced that another Apple Arcade game, Synth Riders, will be updated to provide a new immersive experience, allowing Apple Vision Pro users to experience rapper Kendrick Lamar’s most popular song – Humble. — on a mixed reality headset. According to the company, the new immersive experience will be part of the Synth Riders update, which will also be released on February 6.
