The NFL Scouting Combine is in full swing, hundreds of rookies are in Indianapolis to make their case, and the Tennessee Titans are busy taking it all in.
The Titans added much-needed depth to their edge unit after trading defensive end Jermaine Johnson, prompting fans and analysts to wonder if it would impact their draft strategy, especially with the fourth overall pick. While it may add some flexibility, it may not change the direction they take.

At least that’s what Pro Football Focus’ (PFF) Bradley Locker thinks, who outlined his thoughts on the Titans’ ideal three-game series.
Tennessee Titans: EDGE Rueben Bain Jr., WR Chris Bell, CB Davison Igbinosun
The Titans’ acquisition of Jermaine Johnson II shouldn’t change their draft plans much, with the Titans expected to select a top pass rusher with the fourth overall pick. It’s hard to find a better match than Bane, who could reunite with former college teammate Cameron Ward.
With the 35th overall pick, Tennessee should aim to add a valuable pass catcher for Ward, with Bell (83.3 PFF grade) a possibility. Returning Robert Saleh in the third round will be prudent for the defense, while Ibinosun (81.5 overall PFF grade) will improve a secondary that ranks 28th in PFF’s coverage rankings.
With the news coming just before the start of NFL free agency, Bane, Bell and Igbinosun all hit areas where the Titans desperately need and will add some playmakers. The big question is, will these players still be available when the Titans take the field? If they did, it would be a huge bonus.
