The York Police Department is investigating a road rage incident near a high school that left one person injured Saturday morning.
A road rage incident turned into a shooting on the Alexander Love Highway, involving an 18-year-old man and a 72-year-old man.
Police said the incident happened late Saturday morning near York Comprehensive High School. Both men were armed with handguns when the argument escalated.
Officials said the two men got into a shootout and the 72-year-old man was treated for a gunshot wound to his arm and transported to a local medical facility.

The 18-year-old man has been detained by police as investigations continue. Police said investigators are processing the scene, interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
Authorities are asking the public to avoid the Alexander Love Highway area for their own safety during the investigation.
Police said no students, staff or staff at York Comprehensive High School were involved in the incident and there was no ongoing threat to the school. School operations will not be affected to ensure a safe environment for students. Normal campus activities will continue during the police investigation.
