Former Pretty Deadly bandmate Kit Wilson performed well and made a name for himself outside of tag team action while Elton Prince was sidelined due to neck surgery. Part of the way he’s doing this, in addition to his gimmick denouncing toxic masculinity, is with a catchy new theme song that’s taking social media by storm.
Wilson told Chris Van Fleet on his “Insight” podcast that he hoped the song would be catchy, but he didn’t realize it would be so popular. He explained that he put a lot of effort into the song and was pushing for new music when he found out he was going solo.

“I started sending messages all the time saying, ‘I love new music. Can I get new music?'” he explained. “Then eventually I got in touch with Neil [Lawi]I believe, and then he called me. We had some discussions on the phone. He said, “What are you looking for?” So I said, “Can I send you an email?” After I hung up the phone, I started writing this email with all my references. It’s full of my favorite songs. All my thoughts. lyrics. This is its theme, its atmosphere. “
Wilson explained that he timestamps the songs he likes and sends them to music producers. The opening theme song’s call, inspired by songs by Charlie XCX and Billie Eilish, begins the same way, although he said he originally requested an English dub of “Hey Kit, are you there?” Other influences include Black Pink’s “Like Jennie” and Chappell Roan’s “Femininomenon”, plus some Harry Styles influences.

Wilson’s new theme caused a stir during the January 2 “WWE SmackDown” match against Matt Cardona, kicking off the feud between the two. The star has been on his own since Prince was injured during a match in May 2025. He explained that Paul “Triple H” Levesque asked him if he wanted new music, and Wilson said that while he cherished Pretty Deadly, it was time to move on.

“I was scared, but I just felt like if we were going to start a new chapter, we had to leave,” he said. “So I said, ‘I want to get away from this.’ Well, obviously, if it comes back, it will come back. But I just want to start over.”
The star seems to be excited about his new song, and so are viewers and people on social media. He can be seen singing along to the music during his entrance, telling Van Fleet that while he enjoys “the lip-syncing moment,” it’s not easy.
“I’ve been struggling,” he said. “There was crowd noise, and it was really annoying because I couldn’t hear my music. I couldn’t sing along… But, I love the music. I love the lyrics, and, in the email, there were certain words and certain lyrics. I wanted ‘Pretty Deadly’ in it. I wanted some kind of reference. So there were just little Easter eggs in there.”
