The U.S. capital Washington hosted the official draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Friday, announcing the final composition of the 12 groups that will set the stage for the world’s largest football tournament.

The 2026 World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, and will feature an unprecedented 48 teams, compared to only 32 teams in previous World Cups since 1998.
