Parts of Georgia are bracing for their first snow of the year.

The southern portion of metro Atlanta is on the northern edge of the winter weather warning.
The policy is in effect for Henry, Newton, Morgan, Greene, Spalding, Meriwether, Pike, Lamar, Butts, Upson, Jasper and Putnam counties from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Snow accumulation could be up to an inch deep.
Roads may become slippery, especially on bridges and overpasses, and in areas where residual moisture freezes. If you must travel on Sunday, use caution.

Light snow may extend north to Interstate 85. Severe Weather Team II Meteorologist Ashley Kramlich Little accumulation is expected in metro Atlanta.
A winter storm warning has been added for areas of central Georgia near Macon and Dublin, where 1 to 3 inches of wind are possible.
This will be a fast-moving system and precipitation will end early Sunday afternoon.
Looking ahead, Sunday and Monday will be sunny but bitterly cold.
