Chippewa TWP. ― Only three months after opening, Beaver County convenience stores have reason to celebrate the holiday
Sheetz, 2733 Constitution Ave., Chippewa Township, sold a $2 million Powerball with Power Play ticket for the Dec. 13 drawing.
The Pennsylvania Lottery reports that the ticket matched five of the five white balls drawn (1-28-31-57-58), resulting in a $2 million win (minus applicable withholding taxes). According to a release from the lottery, without the $1 Power Play option, the ticket would be worth $1 million.
Sheetz opened in late September and will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
We will not know who the winner is until the prize is claimed and the ticket is verified. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. Winning tickets purchased from a lottery retailer should be signed immediately on the back. Once the claim is processed, the online bonus will automatically appear in the player’s account. Players can visit palotery.com for more information on how to file a claim.
In Pennsylvania, the most recent Powerball jackpot event has generated more than $82.7 million in sales and more than $33.1 million in profits, benefiting Pennsylvania seniors.
Pennsylvania Lottery players have the option to purchase Powerball tickets online or by visiting a retailer. Players can find their nearest lottery ticket sales location by visiting the Find a Retailer section of the lottery website.
The lottery also reminds players that it is participating in the National Council on Problem Gambling’s annual Responsible Gifting campaign. The campaign raises awareness that lottery products are not suitable as gifts for children and encourages responsible gift-giving during the festive season.
