Jan. 4—Missoula — Money Williams scored all 31 of his points in the second half to help Montana State beat Northern Colorado 88-79 and never trailed.
In a rematch of last season’s Big Sky Tournament championship game, Montana secured the same result Saturday at Dahlberg Arena, moving to 8-7 overall and 2-0 in conference. The Bears lost 10-5 and 0-2.

Brock Wisne led the Bears with 22 points, while Quinn Denker and Ibu Yamazaki each scored 14 points.
Te’Jon Sawyer scored 15 points for Montana and Grant Kepley scored 14 points. Tyler Isaac and Tyler Thompson each scored 11 points, and the Grizzlies had five players score in double figures.
Montana State started the game 8-0 and led by 17 points at halftime, 30-13.
After a scoreless first half, Williams found his footing in the second half and got to the free throw line. The Grizzlies made 17 of 17 shots as a team and 35 of 38 free throws.
Montana will hit the road for the first time in 2026, hosting Idaho State in Moscow on Thursday at 7 p.m.
