Why You Should Link PAN With Aadhaar Before 31st March 2022

The Indian government has now made it mandatory for all those filing income tax returns in India to link their PAN (Permanent Account Number) card with their Aadhaar card, with the deadline set as March 31 this year. So, if you have not linked these two important documents, then your PAN card will become invalid and you will have to pay a fee of Rs. 1,000. To avoid facing the risk of penalties, you must link your PAN with your Aadhaar card and here is a step-by-step guide for you.

  1. Visit the income tax e-filing portal “www.venuetaxindiaefiling.gov.in/”.
  2. If you have not already done so, please register on the website. Then, enter your pan Card number, this will be your user ID.
  3. Log in by entering your user ID, password and date of birth. If you don’t have an account, you must create one.
  4. A pop-up will appear asking you to link PAN with Aadhaar. If you don’t find any pop-ups, go to Profile Settings on the menu bar and click Link Aadhar.
  5. Details like name, date of birth and gender have been mentioned as per your PAN details.
  6. Now, you have to verify the PAN details on the screen with the details mentioned on Aadhaar. Note that if there is a mismatch, you must make the same corrections in either document.
  7. If the details match, enter your Adhar number Then click the “Link Now” button.
  8. A pop-up message will appear informing you that Aadhaar has been successfully linked to your PAN.
  9. You can also link yours by visiting www.utiitsl.com/ or www.egov-nsdl.co.in/ pan and Adharka.
