Rams linebacker Nate Landman leads all honors, becoming one of the NFL’s toughest tacklers after signing with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2022. Now playing in Los Angeles, Randleman continues to earn accolades with a clutch hit.
He’s not the only one in his family making waves. Randleman’s father played professional football in Zimbabwe, while his brother played tight end at Arizona State University. And there’s his sister, whose name—Ocean Trail—seems to predict a stellar career in the pool. Ocean Trail was a swimming prodigy in the prime of her sport, giving her a name older than most former non-Olympic Division I swimmers.

Who is Ocean Road?
Ocean Trail is Randleman’s sister. Like her brother, she was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. The Landmans lived in Zimbabwe’s capital until 2002, when they moved to California. They settled in Danville and Ocean attended Monte Vista High School, the same school Nate attended a few years later.
The Randleman children grew up in an athletic family — Nate and Ocean’s father, Sean, played professional rugby in Zimbabwe — and their children were standouts in their old neighborhood. Nate and his older brother Brendan preferred the football field, while Ocean preferred the swimming pool. She was known for her freestyle skills and was named a high school All-American for her performances on the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.
Orson received an offer from Oregon State University. She immediately became one of the most familiar names on the team, thanks at least in part to her aptly named name.

ESPN analyst Troy Aikman noticed this during the Rams’ win over the Falcons in Week 18, calling out “Oshon” — and her fittingly sarcastic name — while praising Nate’s performance and the Paramount+ show that shares his and Ocean’s last name.
“He loves being called Randleman. Great play, great linebacker, great name. I mean, it all ties together,” Aikman said. “The funny thing is – guess what his sister’s name is? Ocean Randleman, she’s a swimmer at OSU. So you know.”
Ocean, who transitioned into fitness just a few years after graduation, quickly responded to Aikman’s call on her Instagram page, which has 13,900 followers.
“When @troyaikman gives you a shout out on Monday Night Football,” she wrote on Instagram Stories.

Where is Nate Randleman from?
Landman and his two siblings are from Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. He is one of two active NFL players to hold this honor. The other is Eagles safety Andrew Mukuba.
Although Randleman only lived in Harare until he was four years old, he had a special relationship with his country of call. His tattoos pay homage to his heritage, with images of elephants and lions on his arms and the outline of Africa on his chest. He is traveling to Zimbabwe in 2023 and plans to make more visits as his career develops.
“It feels like home,” Randleman told The Athletic in 2026.
