Payne, who rose to prominence in the BBL, was named Man of the Match in the BBL15 final (2025-26), helping the Perth Scorchers win 3-18 against the Sydney Sixers and win the title for the sixth time. In addition, he also competed in ILT20 competition for Desert Vipers for two seasons.
