WhatsApp disappearing messages is now available on Android and iOS platforms in India. Earlier this month, WhatsApp officially announced that it would be launching a disappearing messages feature that will automatically delete your WhatsApp messages after a certain period of time. Although this feature is already available in many different apps, it is now available in WhatsApp as well. The new feature is now finally rolling out to everyone. Details of the new feature have been revealed on a FAQ page created by WhatsApp, and users can now enable the option to delete messages from individual or group chats after 7 days. WhatsApp: How to enable disappearing messages feature
Before proceeding, make sure you have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your smartphone. For Android users this will be Version 2.21.206.15 For iPhone users this will be the version 2.21.121.4.
Once you resolve this issue, continue to follow the steps below to enable the disappearing messages feature in WhatsApp.
- open a WhatsApp Chat > Click Contact information > Scroll down to find disappearing message feature.
- This feature is disabled by default. tap continuethen click exist Enable this feature.
- You must enable this feature individually for each chat. Once you do this, your messages will be automatically deleted after 7 days.
You can’t decide how long a message lasts before it disappears in a chat, which means your only option now is seven days, at least for now. Competing apps like Telegram offer users multiple options, but WhatsApp decided to start with a single time setting.
Apart from this, it is also possible to store disappearing messages before deleting them, i.e. by copying these messages and storing them in a different location. The same applies to media files, one can always take a screenshot and save the photo before deleting it.
