A new edition of Hard Knocks returns on Tuesday night, featuring the NFC East: The Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders and New York Giants will all appear as well.
Of course, HBO Max’s “Hard Knocks: Season with the NFC East” begins with the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. While Philadelphia currently sits atop the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys are closing in. To make matters worse, Dallas’ incredible comeback victory over the Hawks occurred around the time filming for Hard Knocks began.

Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts has been closely watched for his performance this season. In the first episode, we saw Hurts take a hard beating on himself after making multiple mistakes in last week’s loss to the Bears.
In addition to Dallas’ impressive back-to-back wins over the Eagles and Chiefs, Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer was a focus of the first episode. Schottenheimer described the long journey to his first head coaching opportunity. His players, including quarterback Dak Prescott, are big supporters.
The Giants recently fired their head coach and subsequently their defensive coordinator. Things are bad in New York. However, “Hard Knocks” focuses on the positives, including rookie quarterback Jaxon Dutt and veteran Jameis Winston. Once again we see why Winston is the ultimate teammate.
Finally, we have the Commander. When safety Jeremy Reeves congratulated quarterbacks coach Tavita Prichard on landing the head coaching job at his alma mater, Stanford, you wouldn’t know this was a 3-9 team when you saw the reaction from everyone, including coach Dan Quinn. Some fans rolled their eyes when Quinn talked about brotherhood and culture. This can be seen in this sequence.

The first episode also features a bit of Jayden Daniels. Before Sunday’s game, Daniels spoke with legendary coach Tony Dungy, who had words of encouragement for the 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
