Despite a poor performance early Tuesday night, the North Carolina Tar Heels pulled off another dominant victory with a 77-58 victory over ETSU.
UNC (10-1) couldn’t break the Buccaneers’ (8-4) slow pace early and watched as its opponent used up the entire shot clock before making a field goal. North Carolina can’t escape the transition.

After halftime, the Tar Heels took a 7-point lead. Henri Veesaar scored a career-high 26 points, quickly erasing any doubts about UNC’s ability to defeat weaker opponents.
North Carolina now quickly turns its attention to Ohio State, with news awaiting both programs on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Tar Heels and Buckeyes (8-2) will face off in the CBS Sports Classic in Atlanta, the hometown of UNC star freshman Caleb Wilson.
In addition to losing to Michigan State on Thanksgiving, North Carolina also beat non-conference opponents handily. That includes Final Four opponents like Kansas State (87-74) and Kentucky (67-64).
The Tar Heels last faced off against Ohio State in 2022, beating New York City 89-84 in overtime. That season, both UNC and the Buckeyes missed the NCAA tournament.
