West Valley City Police seek help finding missing woman who feared for her safety

West Valley City, Utah (ABC4) – Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing woman who they say feared for her safety before she went missing.

According to the West Valley City Police Department (WVCPD), 31-year-old Shianne Turner has been missing since February 14. The day before, she told her mother she was going to Las Vegas or Arizona because “she believed someone was going to hurt her.”

Turner is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds; she has brown hair and hazel eyes. She also has several tattoos, including a moon on her knuckles, an anchor on her ankle, “Karson” on her back, and flowers on her hip.

WVCPD said a male acquaintance answered Turner’s phone call on Feb. 14 and told the family she left somewhere in Arizona with another man. Authorities believe the man lives in the Phoenix area.

Turner did not respond to any calls or messages in the past 10 days and was not active on social media, police said. It was out of character for her and police said there were “extreme concerns for her safety”.

On February 19, the male that left Utah with her returned to the Salt Lake City area without Turner. The family said he claimed she left behind her belongings and mobile phone, which they said was “untrue”.

WVCPD said investigators are actively working to determine her whereabouts. They are asking the public for information about her travels between Utah, Nevada and Arizona.

Her family said they knew she was an adult and had struggled in the past, but “it was completely unlike her to be gone for so long without letting her loved ones know she was safe.”

Anyone with information on Turner’s whereabouts is asked to call 801-840-4000 or 911 and quote WVCPD case number WV26-13416.
