President Donald Trump told reporters on Friday that Arkansas Governor and former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders (right) was asked to leave a restaurant and that he couldn’t believe where it was happening.
“Wow! In Arkansas, that’s pretty surprising,” he said after a reporter told him the incident happened in Sanders’ home state.

Sanders said Friday that she and her team were kicked out of a Little Rock restaurant where the owner said employees felt “threatened” by her presence. The restaurant, The Croissanterie, denied anyone told Sanders the employee felt “threatened,” but did say employees and customers raised questions about her being there.
“Ultimately, we decided to support our employees and guests who expressed they felt uncomfortable,” the restaurant said in a statement.

According to the statement, one of the governor’s security personnel was “asked to encourage the governor to conclude her visit” after the meal. Half an hour later, “as the 90-minute table seating limit approached, security staff contacted a second time and advised that approximately 10 minutes remained” and Sanders left the restaurant.
“I love Arkansas,” Trump told reporters. “I won that state by such a wide margin. I thought Sarah was going to be fine. But it’s too bad. She’s a good woman.”
