Warriors’ Draymond Green sends two-word message to Gui Santos

The Golden State Warriors signed Gui Santos to a three-year contract extension worth $15 million on Saturday, February 28, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. Santos’ game has steadily improved since being selected by the Golden State Warriors with the 55th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. The third-year forward has played in 48 games for Cole’s team this season, starting 13 of them.

Shortly after news of Santos’ contract extension broke, veteran forward Draymond Green shared a two-word message via Instagram.

“Vamos Santos!!!” Green wrote.

Green is one of the Warriors’ most senior talents. He is a four-time NBA champion and one of the best defenders in league history. There is reason to believe that he has been a valuable mentor to Santos since he joined the team as a rookie. Additionally, the two have shared the court at times over the past two seasons.

Santos has been a key member of the Warriors’ rotation as they deal with their current injury woes. His continued improvement and growing impact earned him the opportunity to continue his career with the team that drafted him. Judging from Green’s Instagram Story, he appears to agree with the decision.
